This is a favorite spot of mine just North of Clarksville and it just happens to have a geocache near by here! The geocache name is Dance Hall and the GC# isGCRYQN. This area is on private land and there is a notrespassing sign across the creek. Maybe it is OK to go see the rock. The area here is known as Kings Canyon. Don't forget to take your camera with you when you go geocaching!

Spring Lake Dam from above.

Spring Lake Dam from above.

A nice view of the dam with a little water flowing. This is a spectacular scene in the spring after a rain. If you visit this area there are four or five geocaches in the area as well as a bechmark on the dam. GPS cords for the parking area below the dam are N 35 08.928, W 093 25.539. Enjoy this area and send me some pics if you go there!

James, the travel Gnome at the Spring Lake Sign.

A geocaching Gnome? Well, maybe just a traveling Gnome of sorts. Here he is at Spring Lake where there are several geocaches around the lake and maybe one REAL close? I know of about four in the area and be sure to check out the Spring Lake Dam. One of the neatest old dams around the area. Of course, I had to take James there to check it out. I'll post a pic of the area.

Another good day geocaching

Top underside of The Glory Hole.

Sometimes it's not about the numbers it's about the destination. This was the case today (Jan 29 2007) as I went to visit one of myfavorite water falls and also to get a geocache there. It was 20 degrees when I left the house and when I drove up to the parking area N 35° 49.703 W 093° 23.436 it was still below freezing. I packed up my camera gear along with my GPS and headed to The Glory Hole. It's an easy walk down to the falls and when you get there N 35° 49.320 W 093° 23.99 you will be rewared with one of natures unique views. The geocaching number for this cache is GCGOPO.

After photographing in the area for about an hour or two, I went up top of the falls and had a snack and went and found the cache. It was in great shape and it was an easy find.

Pam's Grotto Falls

Me at the falls

Another location where there is a geocache and a great waterfall. This was the first photo trip of the year as well as the first geocaching day of the year. The falls was running nice and this is a view of the falls from the other side of the spot where most people photograph the falls.

Located near Haw Creek Falls Recreation Area and it is about a 1/2 mile hike to the falls "if you follow the trail"! I can't remember the GC Number, but look it up at geocaching.com.
